Fist Niagara Bank Branch- Villiage of Lewiston, N.Y.
An 1850's Doctors office and residence was reconfigured into bank branch offices and teller area with exterior canopy and drive up lanes for First Niagara Bank.
Laurie Hauer-LaDuca was the lead Architect for this project while at George Lukaszewicz Architect P.C.
This project was reviewed by the following agencies:
SHPO- State Historical Preservation Board.
Village of Lewiston Historical preservation Board.
The existing structure was gutted and stabilized for renovation. All interior trim was left in tact while Building systems were updated.
The 1850's building was lowered to address ADA requirements for Handicap accessibility.
Some existing windows were repaired while others were replaced. The new wood windows were constructed in a similar manner as the originals.
The rear addition was designed to match and compliment the original 1850's structure, The new exterior wood clapboards on the addition were detailed to match the existing wood clapboards of the 1850's structure as directed by SHPO. Exterior cornice, brackets, and original front door & surround were restored. Historical Interior millwork & details were salvaged and replicated in the new bank addition.
